Statement of Commitment
- All children have the right to feel safe, happy and empowered at Woodlands & Lonsdale House Childcare
- We are committed to support wellbeing, inclusion, participation of all children including cultural safety of First Nations Children.
- We have zero tolerance of child abuse or harm, including racism, discrimination and bullying.
- We value diversity and proactively take steps to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all children regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, economic status and other diverse backgrounds.
- Any allegations or safety concerns will be handled with respect and dignity supported by our service policies and procedures
- Our service is committed to supporting Educators with current training and education in all aspects of child safety, including identifying any risks and the ensure that these are removed appropriately
- As a service we are focused on preventing any risks identified as child abuse to ensure that children’s safety and wellbeing is always protected.
- Our service has extensive human resources and recruitment practices for all educators, staff and volunteers
- We educate children about their rights as all children have a voice and we as educators will respect their voice and wishes
- We encourage and support all children to raise concerns if they do not feel safe.
- We listen to children and families and treat all safety concerns seriously.
- We welcome feedback on any safety concerns and will ensure that our procedures are conducted accordingly with our policies and will address all complaints confidently and respectfully
- Our comprehensive policies and practices will be adhered to by all educators and staff to ensure children’s safety is always paramount
- We continuously strive for best practice and believe that child safety is everyone’s responsibility.
